Douglas Avenue Rehabilitation

The Douglas Avenue Rehab was the first in a series of projects that will enhance the appeal of downtown streets and sidewalks. Streetscape work on Douglas extended from Stephens Street past City Hall and the Douglas County Courthouse, ending at Clair Street.

All downtown streetscape work will follow the lead of the demonstration project that was implemented several years ago on portions of Oak Avenue and Jackson Street downtown.

"Douglas Avenue Rehabilitation Project" features include:

• New sidewalks on the north and south sides of Douglas
• Decorative crosswalk features
• Victorian-style streetlights
• New decorative benches and trash receptacles
• New trees
• Landscaped island in front of the courthouse
