The PLANNING DIVISION of the Community Development Department provides service and information to the general public about development standards found in the City of Roseburg Urban Area Comprehensive Plan, Land Use and Development Ordinance (LUDO), Site Plan Review and Land Use Processes. Specifically, the Planning Division reviews potential development to ensure compliance with zoning, setbacks, parking, landscaping, access and other City requirements.
In addition to acting as the clearinghouse for the development process, the Planning Division provides staffing for the City Council on land use and special project matters, and administrative support for the Planning Commission, the Historic Resource Review Commission and the Economic Development Commission.
Information on items such as transportation planning, addressing, floodplain management, hillside development and geologic review, historic inventories, wetland information, population and other various subject matters can be obtained from the Planning staff.
Planning staff can provide information for all facets of development and land use within the City limits and in certain areas within the Urban Growth Boundary.
