Movies in the Park

Free family movies brought to you by City of Roseburg Parks and Recreation and US Cellular.
Bring a blanket and come enjoy a fun-filled evening of great entertainment with family and friends.  Pre-movie entertainment begins at 7:30 pm and the movie at dusk (about 9:30 pm).

Friday, June 15th We Bought a Zoo We bought a Zoo is a comedy-drama based on a memoir by Benjamin Mee.  It tells the story of recently widowed Mee and his family who just moved into a dilapidated zoo and took on teh challenge of preparing the zoo for its reopening to the public.      No pets allowed at Moives in the Park.
     All children under 13 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
     All movies and activities are weather permitting (including wind speeds), and are subject to change.

Low Impact Senior Fitness - 

Roseburg National Guard Armory (111 General Ave.) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from  8:45 -  9:30 a.m.  

Adult Fitness Boot Camp -
Hucrest Elementary School Gym  on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Umpqua Swift Watch
Thanks to the Umpqua Valley Audubon Society for hosting this educational and fun event at Fir Grove Park.  Look for the Swift Watch next September.

Women's "Just for Fun" Summer Golf League
Lots of fun was had this year during the Women's "Just for Fun" League.  This recreational league mixes ladies together in a different four-some each week.  Participants simply need basic knowledge of the game and do not need an established handicap.

Sticks for Kids Recreation Program
Thank you to Jeff Bright for teaching golf fundamentals to the participants in the Sticks for Kids program.  This program is offered each summer for kids ages 6-11 with no prior golf experience.  Golf clubs are provided through a grant from the National Recreation & Park Association and the Golf Course Builders Assocation of America. 

Wise Kids Outdoors Program
Thank you to instructors Kelly Hibbert and Kisha Harp.  This program is offered each summer for kids ages 6-11 and teaches them about the outdoors, exercise, and healthy eating habits.

Sidewalk Chalk Art Event

Thank you to all the participants of the Sidewalk Chalk Art Event that took place during the Wine and Art Walk May 2011, in Downtown Roseburg. Thank you also, to the Downtown Merchants for providing prizes.
