NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE PROPOSED EXEMPTION FROM COMPETITION IN PUBLIC CONTRACTING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, at its regularly scheduled meeting at 900 S.E. Douglas Avenue, Roseburg, Oregon at 7:00 p.m. on February 27, 2017 the Roseburg City Council will hold a public hearing for the purpose of taking comments on the draft findings for an exemption from competitive selection requirements for an elevator modernization construction contract valued at an estimated fee of $58,075.  If adopted, the exemption would allow direct appointment of Otis Elevator Company to perform the contract.

The contract being considered for exemption and special award is for providing necessary construction services to modernize the elevator at the Downtown Parking Structure.

Prior to taking such action, the Council will conduct a public hearing to provide interested parties and the public an opportunity to comment on the proposed action.  After hearing such comments, the Council will consider the adoption of a resolution adopting findings to support the proposed exemption.  Any vendors who would otherwise be prospective bidders to provide the services to be procured under the above described contract may appear at the hearing or may comment in writing on the City’s intent to exempt the contract from competitive bidding by submitting written comments to City Recorder Sheila R. Cox, 900 SE Douglas, Roseburg, OR  97470 until 5:00 p.m. on February 27, 2017
