Seeking Commission Volunteers

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the City of Roseburg is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving in existing and potential positions on the following advisory commissions to the City Council:
Budget Committee: Meets as needed, generally at 7:00 p.m. during the spring to review the proposed annual operating budget and any supplemental budgets and make recommendations to the City Council as to final budget approval. City residency is required.
Airport Commission: Meets at 3:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month to develop policies for future development of the Roseburg Regional Airport, including goals and objectives, prioritized listing of capital improvements and financing. Applicants must have a demonstrated interest in aviation.
Economic Development Commission: Meets at 3:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month to encourage cooperation between public and private sectors to provide an effective community economic development program including upgrading and renewal of neighborhoods and attraction and retention of businesses. Applicants must either reside in the City or own property or business within the City limits.
Historic Resource Review Commission: Meets at 3:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month to study and make recommendations relating to regulatory controls and administrative procedures for the preservation, beautification and enhancement of the value of historic districts, buildings and sites. Applicants must either reside within the City or own business/property within the City.
Parks and Recreation Commission: Meets at 8:15 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month to consider and prepare long and short-range operation and management programs for the park system, including the Stewart Park Golf Course, investigate means of economic operations, consider/evaluate rules for park usage. Applicants must reside within the City or the boundaries of Roseburg School District.
Planning Commission: Meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month to consider long and short range land use development issues within the City and Urban Growth Boundary. Applicants must reside within the City limits or the Urban Growth Boundary.
Public Works Commission: Meets at 3:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month to provide long-range planning and financing of capital improvements including sidewalks, streets, lighting and storm drainage; considers rules governing operations of the City’s water and storm drainage system, consider/prepare plans for long-range operation and management of each system, consider system improvements and rate structure. Applicants must either reside in the City or own property or business within the urban service boundary (a water service customer).
