ROSEBURG, OR – The Roseburg Fire Department may intermittently close Fire Station 2, located at 2177 W. Harvard Ave., during the current COVID-19 crisis due to ongoing related staffing shortages.

In the event of a closure, personnel would be redistributed to Fire Station 1, located at 700 S.E. Douglas Ave., and Fire Station 3, at 801 N.W. Garden Valley Blvd., because emergency incident response times throughout the city would be best handled by maintaining those two stations. Any such closure would be announced via FlashAlert and there would be no reduction in services or emergency response throughout the city, said Fire Chief Monte Bryan.

Every effort is being made to limit closures and would be made to reopen the station as quickly as possible if a closure were necessary, Bryan added.

If a closure occurs, the public would be notified via FlashAlert when the station reopens. Sign up for news from various organizations on FlashAlert at https://www.flashalert.net. Sign up for Roseburg Fire Department FlashAlerts at https://www.flashalert.net/id/RoseburgFire and Roseburg Police Department at https://www.flashalert.net/id/RoseburgPolice.

The city appreciates residents’ understanding and patience throughout these challenging times. During a closure, signs posted at Fire Station 2 will direct people in need to call 911.

If you need to contact the fire department for non-emergency business, please call 541-492-6770 or email roseburgfire@cityofroseburg.org.
