ROSEBURG, Ore. – Looking for a fun way to cool off this summer? You’re in luck: Roseburg’s splash pad is about to open for the season!

Roseburg Parks and Recreation crews have been busy getting ready to open the Fir Grove Park Splash Pad on Saturday, May 27.

Parks crews have cleaned and filled the system’s 4,000-gallon water tank, updated water feature nozzles and rebuilt an ultraviolet water treatment system that kills any algae or bacteria left over after filtration, said Parks Superintendent Brendon DeMuth.

“I am thankful for the hard work and dedication of our parks staff to keep the splash pad operating effectively,” Demuth added.

The splash pad is a free seasonal offering open daily each summer from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to dusk. The interactive spray park is located just off Harvard Avenue behind the Umpqua Valley Arts Center, 1624 W. Harvard Ave. in Roseburg.

“The highly anticipated opening of the splash pad is almost here! We are so fortunate to have such an awesome park for the community to enjoy throughout the summer,” said Roseburg Parks and Recreation Program Manager Val Ligon.

Shade is limited, so Parks and Recreation staff encourage residents to be prepared with sunscreen.
