ROSEBURG, Ore. – Motorists should expect weekday delays and lane closures on Hooker Road and Vine Street this summer after contractors began new water main installation this week.

Starting Monday, June 26, the contractor is installing about 1,200 linear feet of water main pipes in Hooker Road. The project also will include replacing about 650 linear feet of existing water main in Vine Street from Newton Creek Road to Knoll Avenue.

The project will be paid for with money from the City’s Water Capital Improvements fund.

Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The project is expected to be completed in September.

During the project, there will be lane closures and detours route vehicle traffic around the work zone. The City appreciates motorists’ understanding and patience throughout the project and asks drivers to use caution when traveling through the work zone.

For project updates, please follow the City’s social media channels on Facebook and Nextdoor, and visit the Public Works Department’s “Projects” webpage.
